| After a string of critically acclaimed recording efforts and successful concert tours, guitarist/singer John Pizzarelli has established himself as one of the main forces in jazz today. Selecting as his primary material classic works from composers such as Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Jimmy Van Heusen, and Sammy Cahn, Pizzarelli has cemented his status as today's premier interpreter of the Great American Songbook.
The son of famed guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, John was exposed to jazz at an early age. He started playing guitar at age six and was performing with the likes of Zoot Sims by his late teens. John Pizzarelli then began recording for Stash records in tandem with his father. His first appearance on record was the 1979 release "2 x 7 = Pizzarelli". |
