Mulligan has he ever done anything badly |

The sound quality is not as sharp as it could be but it's content just makes you forget, an amazing bluesy closing to the immortal Walkin' Shoes is worth the price alone. On a couple of tracks you are reminded that not only was Gerry the gratest baritone player who ever picked up the horn but no mean piano player either, it's a safe bet he could have made it as a pianist if he'd never seen a sax. Buy this, no buy them all. Gerry Mulligan tentet, quartet, Concert Jazz Band, he was a master and it shows. |
